HYRNUO MAY CAUSE SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS

Diarrhea is common and may be severe. This can cause your body to lose too much body fluid (dehydration) and salts (electrolyte imbalances). Diarrhea usually occurs around Day 4. At first signs of diarrhea:

    • Contact your healthcare provider immediately
    • Drink plenty of fluids
    • Start antidiarrheal treatment as soon as possible; you should have an antidiarrheal medicine available before you start taking HYRNUO

Additional tips to consider when starting treatment:

    • Eat foods that are low in fiber
    • Try to eat several small meals per day instead of 2 or 3 larger ones
    • Avoid spicy food, dairy products, caffeine, and alcohol

Treatment with HYRNUO may cause increases in liver blood tests that may be severe. Your healthcare provider will do blood tests to check your liver function before you start taking HYRNUO and during your treatment. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you notice signs or symptoms of liver problems, including yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes, dark urine, pale stools, tiredness or weakness, nausea or vomiting, loss of appetite, or pain on the upper right side of your stomach.

HYRNUO may cause severe lung problems. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you develop any new or worsening symptoms of lung problems, including cough, fever, shortness of breath, or trouble breathing.

HYRNUO may cause eye problems that can lead to temporary loss of vision. Your healthcare provider may send you to see an eye specialist (ophthalmologist) if you develop new or worsening eye problems during treatment with HYRNUO.

HYRNUO may cause increases in certain pancreatic lab tests (amylase and lipase). Your healthcare provider will do blood tests to check your pancreatic function before and during your treatment with HYRNUO. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you develop signs or symptoms of pancreas problems, including pain in your upper stomach that spreads to your back, weight loss, nausea, or vomiting.
